Beverly Ann Hignutt

Beverly Ann Hignutt of Denton, Maryland died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Sunday, March 4th, 2018. She was 76 years old.

Born in Wilmington, DE on September 13, 1941, Beverly was the daughter of the late Preston Eaton and Marie Noble (Berghorn). She graduated from Caroline High School in 1959 and married her late husband, William (Billy) Hignutt on July 4, 1959.

Beverly was a lifelong resident of Caroline County. She was a quiet person by nature, but devoted her life to helping others. Prior to starting her family, she worked at Easton Acme for 5 years. She was a stay at home mom until her son Wade entered kindergarten, and then she worked as a teacher’s aide at Greensboro Elementary School for 8 years. She retired from PNC Bank after 26 years of service where she excelled in providing excellent customer service to her customers. Beverly was a member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church and later attended Calvary Baptist Church and Ames United Methodist Church. She enjoyed trips to the beach and spending time with her family and friends, especially her two grandsons.

Beverly is survived by her son, T. Wade Hignutt and his wife, Karen, of Ridgely; two grandsons, Josh Hignutt and his girlfriend, Courtney, of Denton, and Kaleb Hignutt and his girlfriend, Jill, of Ridgely, and an Aunt that felt more like a sister, Joan Reed of Denton. She will be missed by many other family members and friends, including Dawn Detwiler, who considered Beverly her second mom.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 9th, 2018 at Moore Funeral Home, P.A. 12 S Second Street, Denton, MD, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caroline Hospice, 613 S 5th Ave., Denton, MD 21629.
