C. Wayne Geisel of Denton, MD, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the UM Shore Medical Center in Easton, MD. He was 88 years old.
Born on the family farm near Burrsville, MD on August 22, 1930, Mr. Geisel was the son of the late Cloyd Robert Geisel and Carrie Henning Geisel. He graduated from Caroline High School and enlisted into the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked at many places in his life: Southern States, Cannon Wright’s, Colliers, and R.E. Michaels, but always considered himself to be a farmer. A loving family man, he was an avid Orioles and Ravens fan. He liked to do yard work and loved his cats. He was a Charter and Life Member of the Burrsville Ruritan Club, a Life Member of the American Legion Caroline Post 29, a Caroline County Farm Bureau member, and was an Honorary Member of the Denton Volunteer Fire Company. He was also a long-time member of the Union United Methodist Church in Burrsville, MD.
Mr. Geisel is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Beatrice W. Geisel of Denton; two sons: Guy W. Geisel (Amy) of Denton and Gary A. Geisel (Amy) of Denton; 7 grandchildren: Melinda Robinson, Pam Geisel, Hunter Geisel, Forrest Geisel, Lacie Geisel, Weston Geisel, and Blake Geisel; two great grandchildren, Lily and Kristine; and his close friend and cousin, Linda Shepherd of Mt. Gilead, OH.
Funeral services will be 11 AM on Saturday, December 22nd at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second Street in Denton where friends may visit with the family from 10 until 11 before the service.
