Carol Grace Dempsey

Carol Grace Dempsey of Denton, MD died Thursday, February 22, 2018. She was 96 years old.

Born in New York, NY on October 19, 1921, Mrs. Dempsey was the daughter of the late Carroll Forrest Peirce and Grace Helen Ivers Peirce. She and her husband, William Austin Dempsey, Jr. moved to Caroline County in 1947. Mr. Dempsey died November 11, 1991.

Mrs. Dempsey is survived by her daughter, Susan D. Somers (Jay) of Washington, D.C.; a son, Robert Dempsey (Rose Marie) of Cape May Court House, NJ; and was preceded in death by her oldest son, William A. Dempsey III (Ellen), on March 8, 2017. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Scott Dempsey (Maria), Bryan Dempsey (Michelle), Elizabeth Lord (Ted), Kate Walton (Eric), Zachary Somers, and Kai Beil (Michael); and eight great-grandchildren: Mac, Clara, Owen, Laura, Jake, Nathan, Angelina, and William.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, March 5th, at the Moore Funeral Home, PA, 12 S. Second Street in Denton with interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4 until 6 on Sunday afternoon, March 4th, at Moore Funeral Home.
