David Carl Whistler of Ridgely, MD, passed away in the University of MD Medical Center in Baltimore, MD on Thursday, April 5, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was 59 years old.
Born in Riverdale, MD on June 9, 1958, Mr. Whistler was the son of the late Everette Carl Whistler and Lorena Delores Cohill Whistler. He was a 1976 graduate of Bladensburg High School. Mr. Whistler and his wife, Julie Elliott, moved to Ridgely on MD’s Eastern Shore in 2006. He had been a mechanic for PEPCO for34 years. He also loved his dogs, fishing, motorcycles, tractors, and anything he could ride and fix. He was one of those wonderful guys who loved to help people but would not ask for help himself.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and her husband, Tina Marie Whistler and Calvin Barnes of Cheverly, MD; a sister, Linda Ceder in Missouri; three grandchildren: Malaki, Brooklyn, and Elijah; a brother-in-law and his wife, Dennis and Bonnie McCormick; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen B. LeFevre.
A memorial celebration of Mr. Whistler’s life will be held at 3 PM on Tuesday, April 10th, at the Lakeview Fellowship Church of God located at 230 Hess Road in Grasonville, MD 21638 where friend may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Pastor John Flick will officiate.
