Harold "Bud" Towers

Harold (Bud) Cecil Towers, Jr., 78, of Westminster, California peacefully passed away in his home at Brookdale Senior Living in Westminster, CA, February 19, 2016. His best friend and faithful dog, Pulga, was by his side.

Harold was born September 10, 1938 in Wilmington, Delaware. He graduated from Caroline High School in Denton, Maryland and joined the Navy June 25, 1957. Harold served as an Electronics Technician aboard an aircraft carrier for 2 years of his 4-year tour of duty off the coast of Vietnam and was honorably discharged June 24, 1961 at North Island Naval Base in San Diego, CA. Following Harold’s Navy years, he worked in varying fields, ultimately retiring from the University of California Long Beach.

Harold is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Joy Towers, and grandsons Logan and Gabriel Towers, of Phoenix, AZ; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Don Durham of Lake Wylie, SC; brother and sister-in-law, David and Tina Towers of North Myrtle Beach, SC; and brother-in-law, John Mandrell of Huntington Beach, CA.

A memorial sea service aboard the “Orca Too” was held for Harold on January 20, 2018. His cremated remains were respectfully delivered into the sea off the coast of Orange County California. An open house was held that afternoon attended by immediate family and friends.
