Henry Saulsbury Fisher IV, of Denton, MD, passed away at his home on Monday, February 12, surrounded by his loving family. He fought a courageous battle with cancer. He was 76 years old.
Born in Ridgely, MD on April 10, 1941, Mr. Fisher was the son of the late Henry Saulsbury III and M. Amanda Ebling Fisher. He graduated in 1959 from the Caroline High School in Denton, the last class from that school.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Fisher was a diesel mechanic for 18 years with McLean Trucking in various states and returned to the Eastern Shore in 1978. He retired in 1999 from the David Taylor Research Center in Annapolis, MD. After retirement he was a faithful volunteer at the Samaritan House Thrift Shop. He was a friend to all who knew him and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Mr. Fisher is survived by his wife of 54 years, Claire D. Fisher of Denton; two sons: J. Brian Fisher (Kim) and Charles D. Fisher (Dawn), both of Denton; a sister, Frances LaCroix of Bellingham, WA; five grandchildren: Chas, Lindsay, Emma, Benjamin, and Gabriel; and three nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, February 16th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 S. Second Street in Denton where friends may visit from 6 until 8 on Thursday evening and also one hour prior to the service. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery.
