Howard Sydney Pinder, Sr. of Queen Anne, MD, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the Caroline Nursing Home in Denton. He was 91 years old.
Born in Easton, MD on April 4, 1928 , Mr. Pinder was the son of the late Sidney Franklin Pinder and Blanche Rachael Blades Pinder. He had lived in the mid-shore area all of his life. He owned and operated S.F. Pinder and Son in Queen Anne from 1961 until 1970 and was a member of the St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. A great family man, he was a self-employed race horse breeder and he also had a fondness for motorcycles. He was a courier for the Centreville National Bank for many years.
Mr. Pinder is survived by his wife of 71 years, Elizabeth S. Pinder of Denton; two sons: Chuck Pinder (Lois Ann) of Seaford, DE and Jeff Pinder (Trish) of Bridgeville, DE; a daughter-in-law, Jackie P. Pinder of Greensboro, MD; 11 grandchildren: Dale (Laurie), Marcy (Aaron), Ryan (Ashley), Casey (Otis), Michelle (Greg), Shannon (Matt), Allyson (Dicky), Morgan, Jason, Shelby, and Garret; 13 great grandchildren: Cody, Alexa, Camryn, Brennan, A.J., Emma, Patrick, Brody, Kendall, Sydney, Lucas, Kayden, and Jackson. He was predeceased by a son, Howard S. Pinder, Jr. on September 29, 2009 and his brother, Carlton E. Pinder.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, July 6th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second St. in Denton, MD where friends may call from 11 until 12 before the service. Pastor John Allen will officiate. The interment will follow in the Green Mount Cemetery. The pallbearers are Dale Pinder, Ryan Pinder, Sidney Pinder, Aaron Blazejak, Matt Hannawald, Greg Pepper, Garret Temple, Dicky Harmon, and Otis Wagner.
