John Melvin Little

     John M. Little of Denton, MD, passed away at the UM Shore Medical Center in Easton, MD on Thursday, August 30, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was 85 years old.

     Born in Virgie, KY, Mr. Little was the son of the late James Little and Lizzie Jane Newsome Little. His wife, Claudie N. Little, died August 1, 1993.

     Mr. Little moved to the Eastern Shore in June of 1953. He worked on heavy road and bridge construction, retiring in 1994 from Smith Brothers Construction Company after 44 years and continued to work until 2004 and then fully retired. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to work in his garden, watch NASCAR & Football.

     Mr. Little is survived by two daughters: Sandy L. Pratt (Jim) and Teena L. Meyer (Eddie), both of Federalsburg, MD; two sons: John D. Little (Sandra) of Goldsboro, MD and James L. Little (Kimberly) of Federalsburg; and 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Delphia Newman, and two brothers, Joe Little and Charlie Little.

     Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Thursday, September 6th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second Street in Denton where friends may call from 6 until 8 on Wednesday evening and from 10 until 11 on Thursday morning. The interment will be in the Concord Cemetery located at 7112 Dion Road, Denton, MD 21629.
