Joseph L. Holland of Bridgeville, DE, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 23, 2018. He was 75 years old.
Born in Denton, MD on July 30, 1943, Mr. Holland was the son of John Carville Holland and Evelyn Mary Reed Holland. He was a 1961 graduate of North Caroline High School in Denton. Mr. Holland had lived most of his life in Denton before moving to Bridgeville in 2004 with his wife, Sandra. He was a truck driver and had worked for TRP in Millington, Preston Trucking, and Schiff Farms in Harrington. He was a Life Member of the Denton Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Lifeway Church of God in Bridgeville.
Mr. Holland is survived by his wife, Sandra Lee Holland of Bridgeville; 5 children: Cynthia Holland (Wayne) of Greensboro, MD, Joseph Holland, Jr. (Patti) of Federalsburg, MD, Jamie Patricia Angelini of Federalsburg, Beau Dorrell (Angie) of Millsboro, and Justin P’Brent Dorrell (Tiffany) of Preston; a sister, Diane Davis of Jacksonville, AR; 2 brothers: Rick Holland (Cathie) of Henderson, MD and Dallas Holland (Lois) of Dover, DE; 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Frannie Thompson and Phyllis Gale; and a brother, Wayne Holland.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, kDecember 29th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 S. 2nd Street in Denton where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service (12 to 1). The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery in West Denton. Pastor Darrel Morris will officiate.
