Lawrence (Larry) K. Griffin, Jr. of Rhodesdale, MD, died Friday, April 13, 2018, at his home. He was 81 years old.
Born in Baltimore, MD on January 13, 1937, Mr. Griffin was the son of the late Lawrence K. Griffin, Sr. and Eva B. Keyser Griffin. He had been a self-employed plumber and had lived in the mid-shore area since the 1980’s. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the Hurlock Sons of the American Legion 243. He enjoyed camping and hunting and was a member of the American Mountain Man Club.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Mary B. Griffin of Rhodesdale; a son, Kevin Griffin of Dagsboro, DE; two daughters, Robin Barrera of Miami, FL and Traci Mendicino of Connecticut; three step children: Angela Russell, Melissa Gunderson, and John George MacFarland, all of Ridgely, MD; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and five step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Eva M. Vollstedt.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, April 20th, in the Chapel at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock, MD. There are no other services. If friends wish to send memorial donations in memory of Mr. Griffin, the family suggests sending them to the Hurlock American Legion Building Fund, PO Box 7, Hurlock, MD 21643.
