Louis W. Sauer of Denton, MD, formerly of Baltimore, MD, passed away at his home on Thursday, September 6, 2018 under the care of Compass Regional Hospice. He was 86 years old.
Born in Baltimore on November 5, 1931, Mr. Sauer was the son of the late Frederick August Sauer and Anita Elizabeth Krafton Sauer. He and his wife, Analee (Annie) Naomi Sauer, moved to Denton in the 1990’s. For many years, Mr. Sauer was a partner in the family-owned trucking business, Sauer Trucking. He became a member of Local 311 Teamsters in Essex and was a truck driver for several firms in the Baltimore metropolitan area: BFI, Arundel Concrete Corp., S&G, Florida Rock, and then Vulcan. He retired at the age of 82.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Sauer Is survived by his son, Michael Sauer, Sr. and his wife Brenda of Baltimore; two grandchildren: Michael Sauer, Jr. and Krystal Sauer; three brothers: George Sauer, Dan Sauer and Donald Sauer; a sister, Anita Lippa, eight well-loved great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by four brothers: Henry Sauer, Ronald Sauer, Frederick Sauer, and Edwin Sauer; and four sisters: Carol Sauer, Dolly Wildberger, Catherine Gast, and Irma Eder.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at a later date. If friends wish to send memorial donations, the family suggests sending them to Compass Regional Hospice, 160 Coursevall Dr., Centreville, MD 21617.
