R. Walker Obituary

Robert Clinton Walker of Barclay, MD, “Clint”, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the University of MD Shore Medical Center at Easton, MD. He was surrounded by family and friends. He was 59 years old.

Born in Easton, MD on June 6, 1960, Clint was the son of Carolyn Shortall Walker of Easton and the late Robert Charles Walker. He was a graduate of Easton High School. From an early age Clint had the love of everything outdoors and all types of animals. He enjoyed hunting and working on the farm. He spent many hours deer hunting and coon hunting. He was active in 4H as a youth and showed horses with the ApHC as well as the ESWHSA earning many awards and titles. He also enjoyed many years and miles of trail riding. As an adult he graduated from Farrier School in NJ and started his business as Clint Walker Horse Shoeing. He took tremendous pride in his work as he shod and trimmed racehorses, riding horses and show horses, as well as, donkeys and mules, many of whom went on to be successful in many disciplines up to and including World Champions. From a young age he also worked in the family business with his father for Bob Walker& Son Pest Control. Clint spent 45 years devoted to the Bill Mills Trail Ride including being an Outrider and Committee Member. He had a passion for poultry and spent many years dedicated to doing what he loved. His love of all things fancy and pretty lead him to tons of sale barns and exotic animal auctions. Later in life he returned to horse showing and was involved with ESWHSA once again and also showed with APHA earning many titles. As a team, he and his wife worked hard with their horses and were able to win many awards, belt buckles and titles which he treasured. Among these were several Top 10, Top 5 and World Champion titles. His happy place was mostly trail riding and sitting by the campfire afterward. He took pride in the many trophy bucks he harvested over the years. His love of coon hunting also returned and he enjoyed many nights in the woods with his close buddies just listening to the dogs run.

In addition to his mother, Clint is survived by his wife, Adina H. Walker of Barclay; a sister, Cheryl Walker of Easton, MD; four children: Allen Walker (Nicole) of Grasonville, MD, Korin Hudson (Boyd) of Centreville, MD, Amy Lawson (Dustin, Sr.) of Rhodesdale, MD, and Thomas Barnett (Grace) of Rhodesdale; and seven grandchildren: Shelby, Kendel, Cheyenne, Cullen, Rylan, Jr, and Bentley. An uncle and aunt, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Last but not least, his beloved Shorty and Susie, along with the rest of his animals. He was preceded in death by a brother, C. L. Walker.
