Roland C. Frankton

     Roland C. Frankton of Ridgely, MD, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at the Caroline Nursing Home in Denton, MD. He was 83 years old.

     Born in Baltimore, MD on July 24, 1934, Mr. Frankton was the son of the late George Calvert Frankton and Mary Elizabeth Roseberry Frankton. His wife, Patricia A. Frankton, died August 30, 2010. Mr. Frankton had served in the Air Force Reserve for eight years. He and his family moved to the Eastern Shore from Arnold, MD fifty years ago where he worked as a cable splicer for C&P Telephone, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Pioneers of America and Christ Episcopal Church in Denton. One of Mr. Frankton’s many gifts was visiting church members who were shut-ins. He also enjoyed going to various nursing homes to see patients who had very few visitors.

     Mr. Frankton is survived by two sons: Mark S. Frankton (Lynn) of Ridgely and Matthew S. Frankton of St. Michaels, MD; a brother, Calvert L. Frankton of Sorrento, FL; and two grandsons: Steven R. Frankton of Ridgely and Bob McNamire of Harrington, DE. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan McNamire, and two sisters, Joan E. Croghan and Beverly Vosler.

     A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, June 30th, at the Christ Episcopal Church located at 105 Gay Street in Denton. A reception will immediately follow in the Church Parrish Hall. The interment will be private.
