Ronald Joseph Tome (“Joliet Jake”) of Denton, MD, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018, at the Brinton Woods Health & Rehabilitation Center in Denton. He was 73 years old.
Born in Altoona, PA on May 21, 1945, Mr. Tome was the son of the late Francis O’Brien and Vivian Jane McCoy Tome. He has lived in Maryland for the past six years, having moved there from Appomattox, VA. He had been a Rail Road Conductor for the Burlington Northern Rail Road for 30 years. His hobby in retirement was raising dogs of all kinds.
Mr. Tome is survived by three daughters: Tracey Huff of Indiana, Kelly Smith of Denton, and Amanda Michelle Tome of Denton; three sisters: Patti Tome of Erie, PA, Ann Bartlett of N. East, PA, and Janet Stokes of Newport News, VA. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Rene Tome.
