William D. Addy of Denton, MD, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018, at the Compass Regional Hospice in Centreville, MD. He was 74 years old.
Born in Newburyport, MA on June 21, 1944, Mr. Addy was the son of the late Charles Edward Addy and Martha Jean Miller Addy. In 1964, he joined the U.S. Navy and was discharged in 1970. He then worked in communications for NASA, retiring in the 1980’s. He loved the beach, hunting, the woods, and playing baseball. But, most of all, he enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
Mr. Addy is survived by a daughter, Jennifer L. Addy (Oliver Carroll) of Denton; a son, Andrew J. Addy of Wilmington, DE; a sister, Chris Addy of Savannah, GA and a brother, John Addy of Leesburg, VA; three grandchildren, George (Skylar), Austin, and Kathy; and two great grandchildren, Rowan and Remington.
Funeral services will be held at 12:45 on Friday, August 24th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. in Denton where friends may visit from 12:00 Noon until the 12:45 service. The interment will be at 2PM in the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, 6827 E. New Market Ellwood Road, Hurlock, MD 21643.
