William Beever Obituary

William A. Beever passed away at his home in Denton, MD on March 13, 2018. He was 64years old. Mr. Beever was born in Baltimore City, MD on June 4, 1953. He was the son of the late Arthur and Lorraine Beever.

After graduating from North Harford High School in 1971, he joined the U.S. Navy. In 1977, he married his soulmate, Deborah Griffith. After his turn in the Navy, he worked with his father at A.W. Beever and Son. In September of 1984, he went to work with the Oxford, MD Police Department and obtained a diploma for Entrance Level Police Training from the Maryland Police Training Commission at the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy as well as a certificate in Criminal Justice from Wor-Wic Tech. He also received certificates in 31 other areas of training including 170 hours of K-9 training and held multiple instructor titles.  After leaving Oxford as a corporal, he moved on to Talbot County Sheriff's Department and was assigned to the Talbot County Narcotics Taskforce. He then became a K-9 handler for Chestertown Police Department. After leaving police work behind, he became a codes enforcement officer for the Town of Denton, eventually retiring due to medical issues.

Mr. Beever is survived by his wife of 41 years, Deborah Griffith Beever of Denton; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Michael Gleaton; three grandchildren: Devin Williamson, Mackenzie Williamson, and Kerrigan Gleaton; four sisters: Donna Ziegfeld (Steve), Bev Morris , Vanessa Bain (Don), and Jeanne Scott (Greg); 10 nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Luckett Darling.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, March 20th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. in Denton where friends may call from 1 until 2 before the service. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery. If friends wish to send memorial donations, the family suggests sending them to the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S.
