Allen R. Garey

Allen R. Garey of Easton, MD passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Compass Hospice in Centreville, MD. He was 86 years old.
Mr. Garey was born at home in Tuckahoe Neck near Denton to the late Floyd F. and Mildred Andrew Garey. He was a graduate of Caroline High School, Class of 1954. Allen went to work for Koontz Creamery in Easton for 33 years; and later for Sealtest and Lehigh Dairies. He then worked as a carpenter until retiring. Mr. Garey was active in his Easton Church of God community, where he was an usher and Secretary of Sunday School for 34 years; he dedicated 6 years to Church Bus ministry; and volunteered for Nursing Home ministry for 8 years. Allen loved working in his garden and going to country and bluegrass music concerts.
Mr. Garey is survived by his wife, Elsie Kilmon Garey of Easton, whom he married on March 20, 1968, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles Garey, Lester Garey, and Douglas Garey; and sister, Doris Brown.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, at 11AM from the Moore Funeral Home, located 12 S. 2nd St. Denton, MD. Friends may visit with the family the hour before the service. Interment will be in the Denton Cemetery.
