Amelia Russo Henry, also known as “Sug” to her family and friends, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Christiana Hospital in Wilmington, DE. She was 85 years old.
Born in Washington, D.C. on April 30, 1938, Mrs. Henry was the daughter of the late William Henry Maxwell, Jr. and Amelia Russo Maxwell. Her husband, Harold Henry, Sr., passed away July 23, 2014. She is preceded in death by her brothers, William Henry Maxwell III and John Bernard Maxwell.
A 1956 graduate of Northwestern High School in Adelphi, MD, Mrs. Henry liked to garden, read and work on her puzzles. In addition, she was an ardent and loyal Washington Nationals and Washington Redskins fan. But, most of all, she was a wonderful wife, mother, and Nanny.
Mrs. Henry is survived by a son, Harold “Mick” Henry, Jr. (Laura) of Pasadena, MD; three daughters: Kimberly Henry O’Hara (Terry) of Laurel, MD, Michelle Henry of Millsboro, DE, and Alison Manos of Millersville, MD; five grandchildren: Danielle (Daniel), Mickey, Blaine, Michael (Tasia), and Cole; and six great grandchildren: Cheyanne, Lily, Isabella, Deanna, Blaine Jr., and Ophelia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:45am on Thursday, November 9th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second Street in Denton, MD where friends may call before the service starting at 10am. The interment will be at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock, MD.
