Anna Marie "Susie" Dodd

     Anna M. “Susie” Dodd of Denton, MD, passed away at the home of her son, Paul Hastings in Bridgeville, DE. on Sunday, December 30, 2018.  She was 97 years old.

     Born in Caroline County, MD on June 23, 1921, Mrs. Dodd was the daughter of the late Fred Buckle and Gladys Trice. Her husband, Herman “Dick” Dodd, died July 4, 1979.

     Mrs. Dodd grew up in the Denton area where she graduated from High School. Through the years, she had worked at Caroline Poultry, Thermalink, and Caroline Nursing Home. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and belonged to the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Denton.

     Mrs. Dodd is survived by two sons: Paul Hastings of Bridgeville and Richard “Dickey” Dodd of Denton; a sister, Margaret Everngam of Las Vegas, NV; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Jean Johnson; and two sons: Ray Hastings and Floyd “Buddy” Hastings.

     Funeral services will be 1 PM on Friday, January 4th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 S. Second Street in Denton where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service (12 to 1). The interment will follow in the Denton Cemetery.
