Obituary

Barry Michael Stambro, Sr. of Denton, MD passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023, in Medstar Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C. He was 54.

Born in Somers, NJ, Barry was the son of the late Lavant and Peggy Stambro. He is proceeded in death by his wife, Shana Stambro, who passed away August 1, 2022, and sister, April Stambro, who passed away July 24, 1974. Barry is survived by his son, Barry Michael Stambro, Jr. of Denton, MD; three brothers: Lavant Stambro of Denton, David Stambro of Harrington, DE, and Milton Stambro of Preston; mother- and father-in-law, Shirley (Callahan) and Don Mayorga of Denton; sisters-in-law, Billie Jo Stambro of Denton, Suzi Newman of Felton, DE, and Lacey Heist of Somerdale, NJ; nieces: Leila and Ayrianna; nephews: Noah and Christopher; uncles: Tony of Spring, TX, and Carlo of NC.

Barry was known as "Bearcat" to all the local watermen on Tilghman Island, since his arrival in 1985. He was first mate for Harrison's Sportfishing. Barry worked as a route driver for Spring Water for years prior to getting sick. Barry loved spending time with his family, as well as NASCAR racing, flea markets, and yard sales.

Barry will be missed dearly. Services are private.
