Betty Jean Brown

     Betty Jean Brown, formerly of Chestertown, MD, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021, at the Bayleigh Chase retirement community in Easton, MD. She was 81 years old.

     Born in Ridgely, MD in 1939, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late Obie Dolph Goad and Rosie Nester Goad Edwards. Her husband, William “Bill” Brown, Jr., died February 3, 2016. A 1957 graduate of Ridgely High School, Mrs. Brown and her husband lived in Chestertown where they had owned and operated Brown Electric. After they retired from Brown Electric, Mrs. Brown was a sitter and caregiver.

     Mrs. Brown is survived by two sons, Mark E. Brown of Chestertown and Barry Kracke of Federalsburg, MD; a sister, Nellie Rampmeyer of Trappe, MD and a brother, Kenny Goad of Fredericksburg, VA; three grandchildren: Crystal, Amanda, and Barry, Jr.; and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Noble Goad and Clayton Goad, and a sister, Sybil Whitson.

     Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, February 15th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second Street in Denton, MD where friends may call one hour before the service. The interment is in the Ridgely Cemetery.
