Beverley L. Carter of Queenstown, MD passed away on March 29, 2020. Born on November 5, 1938, Mrs. Carter was the daughter of the late Wilson and Jesse Leager. Her husband of 60 years, James H. Carter, passed away in April 2019.
Mrs. Carter graduated from high school in 1956. She worked in Chestertown as a cosmetologist at the Rendezvous. She later owned Queen Anne’s Beauty Salon and was a member of the O.E.S and MD State Cosmetologists. Beverley was a member of the Price Bethany United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Carter was survived by her son, Kenneth Carter; granddaughter, Kathryn Carter; four brothers: Robert, Charles, Edward, and Donald Leager; and a sister, Kaye Barnes. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James Carter, Jr.
Because of the COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral service will be private. If friends wish to send memorial donations in Mrs. Carter’s memory, the family suggests sending the donation to the Price Bethany United Methodist Church, PO Box 6, Church Hill, MD 21623.
A celebration of life will be planned in the future.
