Bonita Stafford Obituary

Bonita S. Stafford of Ridgely, MD passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the UM Shore Medical Center at Easton, MD.  She was 78 years old.

     Born in Easton, Mrs. Stafford was the daughter of the late Arthur Paul Eaton, Sr. and Florence Ann Porter Eaton.  She has spent all of her life on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

     Mrs. Stafford graduated in 1965 from North Caroline High School and later graduated from Goldie Beacom College in Wilmington. For 17 years, she was a secretary for Lifetime Well Drilling in Denton. She went on to work for Caroline County Public Schools in the cafeterias, retiring in 2013.

Mrs. Stafford loved to cook and bake. She spent countless hours making and decorating cakes for all occasions and holidays, most notably birthdays and weddings. Her cakes, candy, and pumpkin rolls were enjoyed by many in Caroline County and afar. Mrs. Stafford delighted in spending time with friends and family at summer picnics and holiday gatherings. Most of all, she was a wonderful wife, mother, and Mom-Mom.

    Mrs. Stafford is survived by her husband of 52 years, P. Reese Stafford of Ridgely; a daughter, Tammy Stafford (Donny) of Greensboro, MD; two sons, Travis R. Stafford (Jennifer) of Ridgely, MD and Trevor Stafford (Mandy) of Greensboro, MD; three grandchildren: Logan Stafford, Morgan Stafford, and Lauren Stafford; and a great grandchild, Mia Holden; niece, Bobbie Jo Trossbach (Brian) of Sudlersville, MD; and nephew, A. Paul (Chip) Eaton III (Jessica) of Ridgely, MD. And many great nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by a brother, A. Paul Eaton, Jr. and a sister, Patricia Eaton.

    A funeral service will be 12 Noon on Monday, January 19th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second Street in Denton where friends may visit from 10 until 12 before the service.  The burial will be in the Green Mount Cemetery on Cemetery Road in Hillsboro, MD.

    If friends wish to send memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Stafford, the family suggests sending them to the Ridgely Volunteer Fire Department, 101 Sunset Avenue, Ridgely, MD 21660.
