Brenda Pritchett Obituary

Brenda Hope Pritchett, 75, of Delmar, Delaware, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 21, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family at home. Brenda was born in Easton, MD. She was the daughter of the late Martin and Anna (Pike) Hope. She was a graduate of North Dorchester High School, class of 1965.

Brenda was a faithful wife for 51 years, and an exceptional homemaker. She cared deeply for her family, friends, neighbors, and extended church family. She did this not out of obligation, but because this was who she was. She ensured that every pet, child, or stranger who crossed her threshold was comforted in conversation, and fed well. As a dutiful Pastor’s wife for many years, Brenda would meticulously organize Sunday service programs, play the organ with healing intensity, and encourage the congregation to sing loud for Jesus. Her angelic voice could be heard above all. Music was soothing to her and would often play throughout the home, specifically while preparing meals and baking. Following her husband in ministry, she called home everywhere from London, England; Boulder, Colorado; New Jersey; Delaware; and Maryland. She had a talent of decorating each home in a way that gave immediate warmth as you entered. Brenda was the true definition of a homemaker, time and time again. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother; and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Brenda is survived by her devoted and beloved husband, retired Pastor Larry Pritchett; a brother Dennis Hope (Sandy) of Virginia; her children Dawn Pritchett (Stephanie) of Millsboro, Delaware, Scott Pritchett (Courtney) of Collinsville, Illinois, and Beth Pritchett (Christina) of Laurel, Delaware; grandchildren Bekah, Owen, Kerith, Cole, Emmett, and Rosalie; bonus granddaughter Tiffany; bonus great grandson Kai; her special Aunt Shirley Diefenderfer of Laurel, Delaware; and her darling cat, Harley, who comforted her throughout the years by easing her daily pain.

A memorial celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at noon on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the Crowder Center at Denton Wesleyan Camp, 424 E. Wesley Circle in Denton, MD. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service, followed by a meal. Brenda would have wanted to feed everybody, one last time. The interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations in Brenda’s memory be sent to Caroline Humane Society, 407 W. Belle Rd, Ridgely, MD 21660, an organization Brenda would donate to often due to her tender love for animals.
