Burton D. Stockley

     Burton D. Stockley of Denton, MD, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 13, 2026, after a long illness. He was 78 years old. Born in Easton, MD on May 10, 1948,

     Burton was the son of the late William Richard Stockley and Carol Marie Derrenbacher Stockley.

     Burton was a graduate of North Caroline High School. He served in the US Navy and then worked for Soil Conservation in Caroline County in the 1970’s. He subsequently worked for several businesses including Moore Funeral Home, P.A. and Furuno in Denton. He had owned and operated his own business, Color Back, before retiring as a dispatcher for R.B. Baker and Sons. In the 1970’s and 1980’s he was very active in the Denton Volunteer Fire Co. and the Choptank River Yacht Club. In addition, he was a member of the Caroline American Legion Post 29 in Denton.

     Burton is survived by his beloved Life Companion, Robin H. Watts of Denton; a sister, Sharon D. Stockley and her husband, D.K. of Easton, MD; a brother, Marcus S. Stockley of Newcomb, MD; and a half-sister, Susie Rada of Queenstown, MD.
