C. Joseph Sterling

     C. Joseph Sterling of Seaford, DE, formerly of Easton, MD, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Ocean Grove Post Acute facility in Millsboro, DE. He was 77 years old.

     Born in Easton on December 31, 1947, Mr. Sterling was the son of the late Charles William Sterling and Edith Elizabeth Warner Sterling. His wife, Susan C. Sterling, passed away on September 23, 2021.

     Mr. Sterling was a 1967 graduate of Easton High School before marrying his beloved wife, Sue. He was a carpenter and built houses with West & Callahan Construction in Easton. He liked to hunt, fish with his wife, and built and worked on boats. He never retired and was working up until shortly before his health failed.

     Mr. Sterling is survived by a son, Karl J. Sterling of Seaford; three granddaughters: Abigail, Hanna, and Kamryn; two great grandchildren, Leiana and Jabraih; four sisters: Vivian Swann of Easton, Gloria Sterling of Easton, Theresa Walls of Denton, and Edith “Edie” Ross (Brian) of Preston; two brothers, David Sterling of Easton and Daniel Sterling (Patsy) of Federalsburg. He is preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Louis Walls and Norman Swann; and a sister-in-law, Irene Sterling.

     A graveside memorial service for both Joe and Sue Sterling will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 9th, in the St. Peter’s RCC Church Cemetery on Rt. 50 in Queenstown, MD.
