Carole Lynn Hoffman

Carole Lynn Hoffman of Bridgeville, DE, quietly passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was 85 years old.

Born in Baltimore City, MD, Mrs. Hoffman was the daughter of the late Stewart Bouchat Snapp, Sr. and Laverne Caroline Frederick.  Her husband of 64 years, Arthur George Hoffman, Jr., passed away on April 9, 2022.

A homemaker, Carole and her family moved to Ridgely, MD in 1980. They moved to Florida in 2005 but returned to Delmarva in 2007 to spend time with family and friends.  Carole always enjoyed spending time in her garden and with her indoor plants and tending to her diverse collection of fish. Most recently, she had found friendship and solace in her church community and grief group.  

Mrs. Hoffman is survived by five daughters: Pamela J. Proud (James) of Elk Creek, VA, Robin L. Nhem of Seaford, DE, Kimberly D. Goodson (Michael) of Woodstock, GA, Jodi L. Stewart (Michael) of Yellow Springs, WV, and Jennifer K. Southard (Jay) of Seaford, DE; 29 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Judith Caldwell and Cynthia L. DeGuzman, both of Baltimore County, MD. 

A funeral service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, January 17th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second Street, Denton, MD.  Those who wish to visit and pay their respects may visit from 10:00 until 11:00 am before the service.  The interment will be in the Bloomery Cemetery in Smithville, MD.
