Charles Louis Andrew of Denton, MD, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025. He was 70 years old.
Born in Easton, Charles was the son of Joyce Anne Baker Andrew of Denton and the late Louis Chance Andrew. He was a 1972 graduate of North Caroline High School.
Charles started as an auctioneer for Curtis Andrew before becoming a Sheriff’s Deputy for Caroline County in 1975. In1994, he served as the Interim Sheriff for Caroline County before becoming the Superintendent of the Caroline County Detention Center retiring in 2008.
Charles had been a Kansas City BBQ judge and was a Board Member and past Vice President of the Caroline County Adult Day Care. Always interested in history, he was a Camp Cook for the 2nd MD Infantry Co. PAX and was also the long-time tour guide for the Linchester Mill in Preston, MD. In 2023, he became the current President of the Caroline County Historical Society.
In addition to his mother, Charles is survived by his loving wife, Linda L. Andrew of Denton; two sons, Jacob C. Andrew (Renee Bounds) of Preston and Daniel L. Andrew (Melanie) of Denton; two stepsons: Ron Jackson of West Virginia, and Hobie Duff (Kathy) of Frederica DE; a brother, Richard Andrew (Susie) of Preston; a nephew, Matthew Andrew of Preston and his children; 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
The funeral service for Charles will be 12 Noon on Saturday, June 28th, at the St. Luke’s Methodist Church located at 100 S. Fifth Ave. in Denton where friends may visit with the family from 11 to 12 before the service. The interment will be private.
