Charles M. “Buck” Cole of Denton, MD, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Arcadia of Denton. He was 95 years old.
Born on June 21, 1928, Buck was a resident of Caroline County all his life. One of six children, he was the eldest son of the late C. Marion Cole and Mabel Mae Tull Cole. He had worked for the Caroline County Roads Commission where he was Assistant Supervisor, retiring in 1988 after 36 years.
Buck enjoyed riding in classic automobiles, whether it was to a neighboring town for a great meal, Spence’s sale for rare finds, or just a quick trip for fun. He loved spending time with his family, especially his late wife, Pauline Bostic Cole who passed away on February 28, 2013. He was a devoted husband, brother, father, and grandfather.
Buck is survived by two brothers, Harry T. Cole of Denton and James A. Cole of Lafayette, GA; a daughter, Nancy Marsh of Dover, DE; a grandson, Troy Cannon and a granddaughter, Susan Toepel; and four great grandchildren: Wyatt, Sloane, Lila, and Willem. He is preceded in death by two sisters Elizabeth Walls and Loretta Carter and a brother Howard (Punkin) Cole.
The family wishes to send their sincerest appreciation to the Caregivers at Arcadia II and nurses at Compass Hospice that cared for Buck as if he were part of their family.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 2nd, in the Denton Cemetery, 24865 Meeting House Road in West Denton. If friends wish to send memorial donations in memory of Buck, the family suggests sending them to Compass Hospice, 160 Coursevall Dr., Centreville, MD 21617..
