Charles Lee Davis of Denton, MD, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at the UMSMC at Easton, MD. He was 88 years old.
Born in Ridley Park, PA, Mr. Davis was the son of the late Charles Lee Davis, Sr. and Augurette Butler. He moved to Denton in 1944 where he was raised by William and Irene Towers. He was vice-president of his class during his 9th, 10th, and 11th years at Caroline High School and was president of his graduating class in 1952.
Mr. Davis was an Auditor for the Maryland Department of the Comptroller, retiring in 1991. He served for ten years in the MD National Guard and also worked 10 years for the Koester Bakery. He loved to travel, cook, do home improvements, play pool, and especially enjoyed the company of his family and watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Eleanor Davis of Denton; a daughter, Valerie Miller (Bill) of Denton; two sons: Charles Lee Davis III (Carol) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and William Davis of Denton; one brother, William Taylor (Carmen) of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren: James Miller, Christine Westberg (Jeremy), and Kathleen Foster (Kyle); two great grandchildren, Hayden and Amelia: and beloved family pet Lola. He is preceded in death by two brothers, George Davis and Robert Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, November 12th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 S. Second Street in Denton where friends may call one hour prior. The interment will be in the Concord Cemetery.
