Charles T. Hawkins of Federalsburg, MD. passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Caroline Nursing and Rehabilitation in Denton, MD. He was 92 years old.
Mr. Hawkins was born in Chestertown, MD. and was the son of the late Charles Nelson Hawkins and Marie Woolford Hawkins. His wife, Doris Mae Hawkins passed away on July 9, 1988.
Mr. Hawkins worked for Tri-Gas, Inc. as a truck driver and later was a school bus driver until retirement when he devoted all his time to his poultry farm in Denton, MD. He was a member of the Easton Farmers Market for years. He enjoyed raising poultry, gardening and farming.
Mr. Hawkins is survived by two daughters, Patricia "Pat" Grussing (George) of Rock Hall, MD., Carolyn Stoebner (Lloyd) of Camden, DE., five grandchildren: Kathy Vezmar, Tammy Grussing, Timmy Grussing, Tami Raimond and Charlie Hawkins, five great grandchildren: Kayla, Jordan, Tyson, Maura and Brant, and a brother, William Hawkins. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hawkins is preceded in death by a son, Charles H. Hawkins and two sisters, Virginia Glisson and Mary Downey.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 7th in the Concord Cemetery on Rt. 313 and Dion Road between Denton and Federalsburg.
