Charlotte Anne Adams Porter of Denton, MD, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Caroline Nursing Home in Denton. She was 100 years old.
Born at home in Denton on March 11, 1924, Mrs. Porter was the daughter of the late Oscar Lee Smith and Margaret Mary Anne Pollard Smith. Her husband, Charlie H. Porter, passed away on November 25, 1990.
A wonderful mother and grandmother, Mrs. Porter had worked for many years as a caregiver in Caroline County. Mrs. Porter had lived her life in the Denton area and was well known by many friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Porter is survived by two grandsons, David Adams (Amber) of Cordova, MD and Robert Taylor (LeAnn) of Winterville, NC; four great grandchildren: Emily, Michael, Megan, and Kevin; a special great grandson, Kaysen; two nieces, Bronwyn Abare and Gloria Behlke (Bill); two nephews E.R. Kitchen (Penny) and Stu Kitchen (Yvonne); and daughter-in-law, Marti Wright (David). She is predeceased by four sons: Jack Adams, Robert (Bobby) Adams, Tommy Adams, and Michael Adams; three sisters: Mary Alice Bourne, Betty Jane Kelley, and Virginia (Ginny) Kitchen; and brother Alfred Smith.
Funeral services will be 11am on Monday, December 23rd, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second Street in Denton where friends may call from 10 until 11 before the service. The interment will follow in the Denton Cemetery.
