David Allan Hutchison of Cordova passed peacefully at the Dixon House in Easton Maryland on Friday, January 23, 2026.
He was 72 years old.
Born in Easton, Md, on July 17, 1953, he was the son of the late Earl Jacob Hutchison and Caroline Clarissa Ebling Hutchison.
David Allan Hutchison graduated from Easton High School in 1971. He attended Lincoln Technical Institute and worked as a mechanic for several years.
On June 15, 1974, he married Jeannette Christine Daffin at the Fairview Church of the Brethren in Cordova, Md. In 1974 David joined the Hutchison Brother’s Farming Partnership where he worked for 50 years, retiring December 31, 2024. David was a loving husband, father and grandfather, he enjoyed supporting his family in all their endeavors.
He had a passion for ornamental blacksmithing; David Hutchison was an ABANA Board Director between 2009 and 2015, serving as Second Vice President (2009, 2010 and 2011), First Vice President (2012) and the President (2013, 2014 and 2015). He was fully devoted to the education mission of ABANA. He also held offices in MASA Blacksmith Organization. He was a charter member of Tuckahoe Steam and Gas Association where he managed the Blacksmith shop for years. He hosted the Bill Gichner’s Hammer Inn for 19 years. He loved going to auctions and buying things to share with friends and family! He was a member of the Fairview church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jeannette Christine Daffin Hutchison, two sons: Michael Allan Hutchison and Michele of Millsboro, Mark Allan Hutchison of Cordova: a grandson, Jarin Foster Winters and Bella of Easton MD: four brothers: John Earl Hutchison, wife, Mary Ellen Grove Hutchison, Harold Albert Hutchison wife, Marie Neal Jones Hutchison of Cordova, Richard Howard Hutchison Sr. wife, Wanda Lee Williams Hutchison of Cordova, Robert Martin Hutchison, wife Mary Lou Hastings Hutchison of Cordova, and many nieces, nephews, cousins.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Earl Jacob Hutchison and Caroline Clarissa Ebling Hutchison, a sister- in- law Regenia Lillian Blizzard Hutchison.
A visitation from 9:30 to 11AM, funeral at 11AM will be held on February 3, 2026, at the Cordova Firehouse 11864 Kittys Corner Rd Cordova, MD 21625. There will be a “Celebration of Life” on Saturday April 25, 2026, beginning 1p.m. at the Tuckahoe Steam and Gas grounds, 11472 Ocean Gateway, Easton MD 2160.
