David Leroy Elburn

     David Leroy Elburn of Ridgely, MD, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 10, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was 70 years old.

     Born in Chestertown. Mr. Elburn was the son of the late Samuel Earl Elburn, Sr. and Clara Mae Joiner Elburn. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters: Clara Virginia Purnell and Sylvia Clark.

     Mr. Elburn managed the Dupont Farm in Bozman, MD for over 30 years. He subsequently managed the landscaping on Hog Island near Bethlehem and took care of mules at Pioneer Point near Centreville. Since 2014, he had worked for Walmart in Denton. He was involved for many years with the Tuckahoe Equestrian Center. He loved farming, mules, and vacationing in Vermont.

     Mr. Elburn is survived by his wife of 43 years, Charlene B. Elburn of Ridgely; three sisters: Alice Ann Hart and Helen Ruth Gray, both of Felton, DE and Carolyn Faye Myers of Preston, MD; one brother, Sam Earl Elburn, Jr. of Preston; and his three beloved mules at home: Toby, Rock, and Almond Joy.

     If friends wish to make memorial donations in memory of Mr. Elburn, the family suggests making the donations to your favorite equine or animal association. Memorial services will be private.
