Doris Mae Perry Hynson of Denton, MD, passed away peacefully at Compass Regional Hospice in Centreville, MD on Monday, January 27, 2025. She was 90 years old.
Born on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Mrs. Hynson grew up on her aunt’s and uncle’s farm outside of Denton and was a graduate of Caroline County High School. She worked as a secretary for Choptank Electric in Denton, for Caroline Nursing Home in dining services, for several years as a stay-at-home mother, and lastly at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill until her retirement. In her retirement, she enjoyed visiting with friends and family, keeping up with the news and current events of the day, and driving herself around in her bright red pickup truck.
She was predeceased by a son, Paul E. Hynson, Jr., her husband, Paul E. Hynson, Sr.; her brother, Franklin Perry; her niece, Amanda Perry; a stepdaughter, Paula Hynson Faircloth; her cousin-brother Ronnie Stafford; and her beloved uncle and aunt, Harold and Mildred Scott.
Mrs. Hynson is survived by her son, Scott Hynson, and his wife, Maria; granddaughter, Dylan Rose Grimes; stepdaughter, Brenda Hanes-Ham and family; her step-grandsons Bill Medford and Kris Medford and their families; a nephew, Kenneth Perry and his family; and numerous cousins, friends, and extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, February 6, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second Street in Denton where friends may call from 12 until 1 before the service. The interment will be in Denton Cemetery.
