Dorothy F. Thompson

Dorothy Ferrick Thompson of Centreville, MD, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021.  She was 91 years old.
     Born at home in Centreville, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late James Ferrick and Lillian Spence Ferrick.  She was a 1946 graduate of Centreville High School.  She was preceded in death by her two husbands:  William H. Tolson and William Thompson, and a daughter, Diana Dee Tolson. 
     Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her life was her family, and her family was her life. 
     She had been a faithful member of the Centreville United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Methodist Women, and choir.  She was active in her community and was also a member of the Homemakers Club, and “Tuesday Girls” for friendship and community projects. She especially enjoyed afternoon tea with her neighbors and friends. 
     Mrs. Thompson is survived by her daughter, Deborah Downes and her husband, James Downes of Centreville; three grandchildren: James Rogers Downes and his wife Laura of Centreville, Catherine D. Elhence and her husband Akash of Blythewood, SC, and William Downes and his wife Amanda of Lafayette, CO; and five great grandchildren: Alex, Rajan, Kiran,Tolson, and Hazel.
