Douglas Schurman

Douglas Schurman, of Greensboro, MD, passed away peacefully at Compass Regional Hospice in Centreville, MD on Saturday, January 14, 2023. He was 82 years old. Born in Paramus, NJ, Mr. Schurman was the son of the late Otto Schurman and Lulu Van Schaik Schurman.

Doug lost his wife, Beverlee Crouse Wade Schurman, best friend and soulmate of 55 years on September 4, 2021. Their years together brought each of them great happiness and joy. Not only did they love spending time with each other, but also their beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   

Mr. Schurman was the first employee to be hired for Tidewater Publishing in Centreville, MD.  His career lasted over thirty years in the printing industry. After Doug's first retirement, in 1984, he bought Shore Auto Sales in Ridgely, MD.

Doug is survived by his daughter Marcia Wade of Henderson, MD, and son, Mark Wade, Sr. of California; grandchildren: Marlo Coppage (Nick), Mark Wade, Jr. (Sarah), Michael Wade (Emily), and Griffin Wade; his great- grandchildren: Cole Coppage, Olivia Coppage, Liberty Wade, Mark Wade lll, Holton Wade, Michael "MJ" Wade, Jr. and Lola Wade; siblings: Dennis Schurman and Dot Jones. Mr. Schurman is preceded in death by his parents and brother Glenn Schurman. The family would like to mention Doug’s close co-workers Heather, Chester and Ron.

 Funeral services will be 10:00 AM on Monday, January 23, 2023 at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. in Denton where there is a viewing/visitation one hour prior to the service. The interment will be in Ridgely Cemetery in Ridgley, MD.
