Edythe Sinclair Obituary

Edythe May Sinclair of Dover, DE, formerly of Denton, MD, gently passed through Heaven’s Gates on Monday, October 6, 2025.  She was 89 years old.  There was no pain in her final hours and she was peacefully sleeping when the angels came. She was surrounded by pictures, scriptures and messages from many friends and loved ones and prayers of all that knew her in a room that came to life in her final hours  - - full of love, prayers, family, friends and the Holy Spirit!!!!

Born in Annapolis, MD, Mrs. Sinclair was the daughter of the late Lewis Lambdin Robinson and Edythe May Smith Robinson.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John (Jack) Hamilton Maurice Sinclair who went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2019 after fulfilling her final dream of traveling in a motorhome which they did for 12 years!!!!!!

Mrs. Sinclair was a 1954 graduate of Annapolis High School. She married her high school sweetheart on December 23, 1954 and in March of 1956, the first of her 5 children was born. "Tootsie" a nickname given to her by her father was an only child. Well, Jack had different plans and she wanted lots of babies. She spent her life loving, raising, protecting, encouraging not only her five children, but any other child that crossed her path. Her passion for music continued throughout her life and was passed on to many of her family.

She began her working career in the business world and remained in the business world until the year after her diagnosis of Alzheimer's.  She was a real estate broker that started "Sinclair Realty" in Biloxi, Mississippi where her daughter Cindy & her husband Jack would share many GREAT TIMES.  Jack & Edythe returned to the Eastern Shore in 1979 where she would go on to work as a secretary at Preston Trucking in Preston, MD and then on for many years at Nationwide Insurance in Easton, MD. The best years of her working career came at the age of 54, when for the next 30 years she would work beside her husband Jack at Accutax in Dover, DE with all three of her daughters, one daughter-in-law, 5 of her grandchildren and yes, even three of her great grandchildren as an Executive Assistant/Secretary, bookkeeper, processor and THE MOM to anyone that asked who she was upon first meeting her.

Mrs. Sinclair loved her church, Calvary Baptist Church, Denton, MD. and served faithfully for 46 years. Her brothers and sisters in Christ, her forever family, always held a special place in her heart and she would help anyone that asked or needed anything. She didn't know the word "NO" when it came to serving the Lord or helping a child.

Mrs. Sinclair is survived by three daughters: Deborah (Debbie) Lynn Thomas Bojko (Tom) of Dover, Cindy Lou Clough of Milford, DE, and Brenda Lee Harris of Hartly, DE; two sons, Walter Lewis Sinclair (Corinne) of Savage, MD, and John Allen Sinclair of Grove City, PA; twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and the first great-great grandchild arriving any day.  She was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Lou Clough and Tommy Harris; and a daughter-in-law, Julie Sinclair as well as a granddaughter, Cristina Sinclair.
