Eleanor G. Flynn

 Eleanor G. Flynn of Denton, MD, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the University of MD Shore Medical Center at Easton, MD.  She was 90 years old.

     Born in Washington, D.C., Mrs. Flynn was the daughter of the late Martin Ralph Chambers and Bertha Virginia Baker Chambers.  Her husband of 65 years, Kenneth J. Flynn, Sr., passed away on November 11, 2020. 

     Mrs. Flynn grew up in Washington and at an early age began work in downtown D.C. with the C&P Telephone Company where she started as an operator and retired in 1997 as an administrator. Also, a homemaker, she was a terrific wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a faithful and active member of the St. Benedict’s/St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church in Denton and Ridgely. She was a devoted fan of the Washington Redskins football; and Washington Nationals baseball teams. She enjoyed watching the horse races and professional boxing matches. She enjoyed the Casinos and was an avid reader, frequenting the Caroline County Library for many years. She was also a loyal watcher of the Hallmark channel.

     Mrs. Flynn is survived by a son, Kenneth J. Flynn, Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Waynesboro, PA; two daughters: Karen Dooley and her husband, Patrick, of Grasonville, MD and Kathy Humphries and her husband, Dale, of  Washington, D.C.; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Flynn of Mountain Home, AK; eight grandchildren: Jessica, Tony, Jennifer, Justin, Kenny III, Kyle, Patrick, and Lauren; and thirteen great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Flynn, and a brother, Jerome Chambers. 

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, April 16th, at the St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church on First Street in Denton, MD.  There will be a 10 am to 10:45 visitation before the Mass at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second Street in Denton, MD.  The interment will follow that afternoon in the St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery located at 5950 Ten Oaks Road in Clarksville, MD.
