Estelle A. Hutson was the daughter of the late William Everett and Magdalene E. Dust. She was born on April 20, 1932 and died June 9, 2025 at the age of 93. She lived the majority of her life in Greensboro, MD. She moved from Salisbury, MD in her teens and went to Greensboro School. The year she was supposed to graduate they added the 12th grade and she decided to get married instead. She later got her GED.
She married Vaughn A. Hutson on March 5, 1950. They had 5 children. Estelle worked at Playtex for several years and later worked at the sewing factory in Greensboro. She was a perfect seamstress and made many of her daughters’ clothes, curtains and just about anything that was possible to sew. Estelle was a life member of the American Legion and the VFW Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn Sr. who passed away in 2000, her son, Vaughn Jr. “Sonny” in 2020, and her daughter, Florence “Flo” in 1986. She is survived by her daughters: Beverley and husband Tom Ireland, Liz Collins, and Hope Hutson. Grandchildren: Jay Downes Jr. (Kim), Heather Downes (Brandon), Kirk Collins (Nancy), Eddie Collins, Cory MacFarland (Becky), and Heidi Hutson Fallon, 11 great grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Bobby Dust of Federalsburg and preceded in death by her 7 siblings.
Estelle lived at Arcadia I since September 2024 when living by herself was not safe anymore. Everyone at Arcadia made her feel at home and she made a lot of friends there. The nurses and aids are such wonderful people and showed compassion towards her. Hospice started helping with her care these last few months. The family would like to thank everyone at Arcadia and Hospice for their loving and tender care given to Estelle these last months of her life.
Friends may visit with the family from 12Noon to 1PM on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Moore Funeral Home, P.A. 12 S. 2nd St. Denton, MD. The funeral service will follow at 1PM. Burial will be in Greensboro Cemetery.
