Florence Dodge Obituary

Florence aka "Flossie" ("Flo-Flo") Dodge, 92, of Greensboro, Maryland, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026. She was born in and remained in the same house for 92 years. Born on August 19, 1933, in Greensboro, she remained deeply rooted in her community and faith throughout her years.

Flossie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, whose life was marked by unwavering faith and love for those around her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary L. Dodge Sr., who passed in 1998. She was also predeceased by her parents, Edna and William Joiner I; and her brother William Joiner and his wife Jean.

She is survived by two sons and their wives: Gary L. Dodge II and his wife Bettse; and Thomas M. Dodge and his wife Pamela. Her legacy continues through her four grandchildren: James (Jamie) Dodge—father to Jaidyn Higgs, and Kayla King and her husband Dennis have 3 great-great grandchildren - Melodie, DJ, Cassandra; and Joe Dodge Bacorn and his wife Crystal—parents to Austin Clark and Hayden Bacorn; Carrie Kilgore and her husband Sam—parents to Samuel, Samantha, Logan, and Lily; and Luke Dodge with his wife Nicole—parents to Nicolas and Seth; and a nephew, Wayne Joiner.

A lifelong member of Greensboro Baptist Church, Flossie found deep spiritual fulfillment within its walls. She considered the church not just a place of worship but a family that uplifted her throughout life’s journey. In her final days, she found comfort in the love extended by the body of Christ—a testament to the faith she cherished so dearly.
Flossie glorified God not only in how she lived but also in how she faced the end of life—with grace, peace, and assurance. Her trust in God's plan was evident to all who knew her. She believed that suffering was fleeting compared to the eternal joy she now experiences in His presence.
She had a profound love for people—expressed through her passion for collecting cards and photographs of those who touched her life. These mementos were treasures that reflected the depth of connection she felt with others.

Her family takes comfort knowing that God prepared every step of her path with care. As they grieve her passing, they also celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with faith, love, resilience, and joy. May Florence “Flossie” “Flo-Flo” Dodge’s memory bring peace to all who knew her and may her legacy continue to inspire generations to come
