Geraldine Carpenter

     Geraldine Carpenter of Queen Anne, MD, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Denton Nursing Home in Denton, MD. She was 81 years old.

     Born in Easton, MD on June 7, 1942, Mrs. Carpenter was the daughter of the late Al Hart and Myrtle Pinkney. Her husband, John H. Carpenter, passed away in 2010. Mrs. Carpenter was a graduate of the Sojourner-Douglas College in Baltimore City, MD.

     She was a Drug and Alcohol Counselor with the Caroline County Health Department for many years, retiring in 2007. An active member of the Allen A.M.E. Church in Thomastown near Hillsboro, MD, she held many church offices as a Past Board of Directors member, Missionary duties, and Eastern Star. In addition, she had been a loving mother and granddaughter who was very active in her community.

     Mrs. Carpenter is survived by a daughter, Annette Demby Pinkney of Denton, MD; and three sons: Reginald Carpenter (Shonte) of Queen Anne, Jonathan S. Carpenter (Latosha) of Clinton, MD, and John H. Carpenter, Jr. (Tamikka) of Wendell, NC; three siblings: Murcey Dean Tyler, Robert Pinkney, and Mitchell Pinkney; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three siblings: Rita Pinkney, Zeke Pinkney, and Winfield Pinkney.

     Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Saturday, May 4th, at the Allen A.M.E. Church in Thomastown near Hillsboro, MD where friends may visit from 6 until 8 on Friday evening. The interment will be in the Sandtown Cemetery on Cemetery Road in Hillsboro.
