Gloria M. Scott

     Gloria M. Scott of Silver Spring, MD, formerly of Harrington, DE, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Bedford Court Healthcare Center in Silver Spring, MD. She was 91 years old.

     Born in Chestertown, MD on July 18, 1931, Mrs. Scott was the daughter of the late James Fisher and Eva Gardner Fisher. Her husband, John William Wright Scott (“Scotty”) died April 22, 2005.

     Mrs. Scott was a terrific cook and was very independent. She loved country music and was a very religious person. She spent many years as a caregiver to elderly people in need. Mrs. Scott is survived by three sons: James W. Scott (Joanne) of Germantown, MD, Joseph C. Scott of Sterling, VA, and Andrew J. Scott of Federalsburg, MD; a sister, Charlotte Hudson of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren: Jaclyn Scott, Joshua Scott, Jesse Scott, and Alex Scott; and three great grandchildren.

     Memorial services are private for the family only. If anyone wishes to donate to a charity in Mrs. Scott’s memory, the family suggests sending a donation to the Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA), 6123 Montrose Rd., Rockville, MD 20852.
