Harriette Haymaker of Centreville, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Complete Care at Corsica Hills in Centreville. She was 90 years old.
Born in Centreville, Harriette was the daughter of the late Charles Agnew Haymaker and Ethel Betton Moore Haymaker. Harriette graduated from the University of Maryland in 1957. She began her career as a teacher at Buckingham Elementary School in Bowie, Maryland. Later, she owned and operated two ceramic and craft businesses, one in Princess Anne, Maryland, and another in Laurel, Delaware, before retiring.
Harriette is survived by her three daughters, Nancy Zintsmaster (Dan) of Costa Rica, Kathleen McGuire (Tom) of Centreville, and Patricia Smith (Lee) of Princess Anne; her son, Michael Frost; her brother, Ronnie Haymaker (Jeanette) of Centreville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Whitaker Frost; her husband, Alfred C. Lewis; her brother, Charles Haymaker; and her sister, Nancy Haymaker.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
