Helen Aldridge Dill of Queenstown, MD, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Corsica Hills Nursing Home in Centreville, MD. She was 94 years old.
Born in Queenstown on October 8, 1930, Mrs. Dill was the daughter of the late George Washington Aldridge, Sr. and Helen Bryan McConnor Aldridge. Her husband, Donald D. Dill of Denton, MD, passed away on April 15, 2017.
Mrs. Dill was a graduate of Centreville High School. She received her BA from Towson State Teachers College and then taught first grade at the Grasonville Elementary School until 1958. She enjoyed reading and Blue Grass Gospel music. She had been a member of the Christ Church Parish in Kent Island.
Mrs. Dill is survived by a daughter, Elisa Deflaux of Queenstown, MD; two sons, Bryan W. Seward of Preston, MD and Jonathan E. Seward of Royal Oak, MD; four grandchildren: Corinne, Bryan, Rachel, and Jonathan; and two great grandchildren, Bryan and Avery. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Aldridge, Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 11AM on Monday, August 4th, in the Old Wye Church Cemetery in Wye Mills, MD. If friends wish to send memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Dill, the family suggests sending them to the Immanuel United Methodist Church, 102 Schoolhouse Lane, Grasonville, MD 21638.
