Henrietta M. Wood

Henrietta Maria Wood passed at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 21, 2023. She was 94 years old.

Born in Talbot Co., Maryland, on May 20, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Callahan and Alphonsa Golt Callahan. Henrietta was a proud homemaker, mother, and farm wife. She was an avid genealogist and local historian. Her husband, Leo John Wood, preceded her in death on March 13, 1999.

Mrs. Wood is survived by her children: Michael L. Wood, Kevin J. Wood, Peter F. Wood, Kathryn M. Wood, Deborah L. George, and Patricia A. Moaney; eleven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sons: Thomas James Wood and Philip John Wood; and six siblings: Edward J. Callahan, Raymond A. Callahan, James B. Callahan, Margaret Shortall, Clara Schlotzhauer, and Evelyn Edmunds.

The viewing will be held Wednesday, December 27th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. 12 S. 2nd St. Denton. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 28th at 10:30 a.m. from St. Benedict’s Catholic Church 408 Central Ave. Ridgely. Burial will follow in Old St. Joseph’s Cemetery Cordova, MD.
