Hiram Thomas Callahan

     Hiram Thomas Callahan passed away Wednesday February 15th, 2023, at the Talbot Hospice House in Easton MD at age 89.

     Hiram was born November 18, 1933, on the farm known as ‘Hacker’ outside of Wye Mills. Hiram was a hard worker that enjoyed farming his entire life, he had a herd of dairy cows for many years, grain farmed, was a school bus contractor, and raced standard bred horses.

     Hiram was a genuine people person that never met a stranger and he was always ready to help others especially family and neighbors. Hiram enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, outings to the racetrack, riding through the countryside and visiting his favorite restaurants, but his favorite place to be was home on their family farm outside Denton.

     Hiram is survived by his wife of 68 years Rosalie Allen Callahan; two daughters, Linda Pepper (Terry) and Lori Blazejak (Bryan); three grandsons: Tyler Pepper (Whitney), Clint Blazejak (Rebecca) and Luke Blazejak (Aislinn); three great grandchildren: Addison Blazejak, Hannah Blazejak, and Barrett Blazejak. Hiram is also survived by one sister, Mary Lee Wooters, and many nieces and nephews. Hiram was preceded in death by one grandson, Travis Pepper, nine brothers and sisters and his parents, William Oswald Callahan, and Margaret Helen Blades Callahan.

     Pallbearers will be Terry Pepper, Tyler Pepper, Bryan Blazejak, Clint Blazejak, Luke Blazejak, and DD Hollingsworth.

     The family wishes to extend a special thanks to DD and Sharon Hollingsworth for all their care and help over the years.

     Hiram will be sadly missed by everyone that knew him.

     A viewing will be held at the Saint Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, 408 Central Ave., Ridgely, MD on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, between 10:30am and 11:30am and followed immediately by a Catholic Funeral Mass. Burial will be private.

     In lieu of flowers the family wishes that donations be made to Talbot Hospice House, 586 Cynwood Dr., Easton MD 21601.
