Howard Hodges, III Obituary

Howard Warren Hodges, III, of Denton, Maryland died on Sunday, October 27, 2024, after a year-long battle with cancer. He was 64 years old.

Howard was born October 31, 1959, in Annapolis, MD to the late Howard Warren Hodges, II, and Agnes Frances Ravadge Hodges. He grew up on the Western Shore in Anne Arundel County in Marley.  He followed in his father’s footsteps, becoming a member of the Marley Volunteer Fire Company at a young age and continued his service with the Ferndale and Riviera Beach Fire Departments within Anne Arundel County.  He served as both an officer and board member at different times within those companies.  He worked different positions with the state but his primary jobs involved his love of driving trucks.  In early 2006 he moved to the Eastern Shore with his wife Tracee settling just outside the town of Denton. It was then he joined the Denton Volunteer Fire Company.  Being retired from the state by then he worked as a career(paid) EMT, a driver and equipment operator for Rick Breeding Excavating, and a Driver for DPC Emergency Equipment shuttling fire apparatus across Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. He had spent the last couple years completely retired, enjoying the peace of the “Shore” and the love of his dogs, Pierce, a German Shepherd, and Bree, a Rottweiler, along with camping with friends and visiting with family.

Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife, Tracee Hodges; daughter, Kristy Reesey (Rich); three grandchildren: Isabella, Lukas, and Liam Reesey; brother, Donnie Hodges (Debbie); nephew, Donald Hodges (Lauren); niece, Courtney Hodges; and great-nephew, Kaiden Hodges.
