Irene Ireland Mullins passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Compass Hospice in Centreville, MD. She was 74 years old.
Born in Wilmington, DE on January 29, 1950, Ms. Mullins was the daughter of the late Walter Bounds and Evelyn Marie Bounds.
Ms. Mullins was a 1968 graduate of North Caroline High School and attended the Institute of Computer Programming in Baltimore, MD and Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, MD and from 1985 until 1988, she was a certified EMT. She worked in the medical field for over 40 years as a medical transcriptionist, finally retiring from the Chester River Hospital Center in Chestertown, MD.
Ms. Mullins is survived by two daughters, Lisa Holden (Scott) of Denton and Melyssa Dunn (Brian) of Greensboro , MD; four grandchildren: Amber Dyott of Easton, Brandon Toth of Baltimore, Tori Holden of Baltimore, and Carly Holden of Denton; three great grandsons: Kameron and Aiden Jones and Jason Dyott, Jr., all of Easton; a sister, Rita Bounds of Denton; a brother, Randy Bounds (Rhonda); and a “Special Friend”, Bruce Lofland of Felton, DE. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Amanda Toth.
Services will be private. If friends want to send memorial donations in honor of Irene, she had suggested sending donations to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org; or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children at lovetotherescue.org.
