J. Marvin Breeding, Sr. of Hickman near Denton, MD, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the U of MD Shore Medical Center at Easton, MD. He was 80 years old.
Born at home in Caroline County, Mr. Breeding was the son of the late George Henry Breeding and Sarah Elizabeth Gardner Breeding. He had attended Caroline High School in Denton.
Mr. Breeding had lived in Caroline County all of his life. He was in the MD National Guard from 1960 until 1963. He was a self-employed Millwright, owning and operating Mid Shore Construction Co., but had also worked for Fluor Daniels Construction, Bob Breeding General Contractors, Atlantic Coast Construction and the Caroline County Roads Department. He retired in 2003. He was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church in Denton.
Mr. Breeding is survived by his wife whom he married November 28, 1964, Marianna Breeding of Denton; two sons, John Marvin Breeding, Jr. (Lora) and Anthony Paul Breeding, both of Denton; two grandchildren, Matthew Breeding (Aly) and Erica Breeding McCready (Mat); and two great grandchildren, Judson Breeding and Jameson McCready; two sisters, Pauline Lister and Rosemary Lord (Hartman); two brothers, Richard Breeding (Laura) and David Breeding (Donna); and a sister-in-law, Kate Breeding . He was predeceased by a brother, Ray Breeding, and two sisters and their husbands: Elizabeth and Bobby Corkell and Carolyn and Harvey Cashwell; and a brother-in-law, Merle Lister.
There will be a walk-through visitation at the Moore Funeral home, P.A. located at 12 S. Second Street in Denton from 5 until 7 on Thursday evening, January 14th. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am on Friday, January 15th, at the St. Elizabeth’s RCC on First Street in Denton. The interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
